UIC håller i internationellt life science-webinar 9/6

”How to connect academia and industry for matchmaking and knowledge exchange”

”How to connect academia and industry for matchmaking and knowledge exchange”.

AIMday is a meeting concept that brings academic researchers and companies together in a new and innovative exchange of knowledge and ideas.

By matching real industry challenges with academic expertise, new understanding and perspectives are brought to companies’ concrete problems.

AIMday is a registered trademark owned by Uppsala University in Sweden. In June 2014 Edinburgh Research and Innovation, the commercialisation arm of the University of Edinburgh, will host the first AIMday event outside Scandinavia.

The speaker Sara Gredemark at Uppsala University Innovation, Sweden, will talk about how and why Uppsala University developed the AIMday concept, which today is out-licensed to universities both outside Uppsala and Sweden. Moreover, Sara will present how AIMday works as a tool for connecting academia with industry and create fruitful knowledge sharing in order to solve real challenges related to product- and service development.

About AIMday® (Eng.)
AIMday® is a unique opportunity for academic scientists and companies, start-ups as well as established companies, to make contacts and exchange knowledge. By matching companies’ need for new knowledge with academic expertise, AIMday brings understanding and new perspectives to companies’ actual problems.

AIMday is centered on small group discussions where a question raised by a company is highlighted, and penetrated during one hour by scientists and experts from several different disciplines.

Surveys prove the uniqueness and effectiveness of the AIMday format as well as the fact that it leaves both representatives from companies and academic scientists satisfied with their participation. The unique AIMday format – a question, one hour, a group of experts – has proven successful in finding useful contacts, collaborations, and new paths to solutions to companies’ questions.

About Sara Gredemark (Eng.)
Sara Gredemark is Head of Communications at Uppsala University Innovation, Sweden, where she also works with the development and out-licencing of the AIMday concept. Previously experiences involve development of undergraduate courses in entrepreneurship and project management as well as development of training programs for professionals at Uppsala University’s division for professional education.
