To strengthen the link between civilian innovations and the needs of the defence sector, several of Sweden\u2019s leading innovation environments have joined forces in TACTIC<\/strong>, a new initiative that has been awarded SEK 35 million in funding<\/strong>, including support from the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillv\u00e4xtverket<\/a>).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe best solutions do not always originate within the defence industry. Sometimes they begin with a startup trying to solve an entirely different problem. That is where TACTIC becomes important. For us at UIC, it is about helping more companies understand where their technology can create value\u2014and doing so together with others who are equally committed to making things happen<\/em>,\u201d says Andreas Wadstr\u00f6m, Business developer, Dual Use at UIC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About TACTIC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The initiative aims to establish a functional regional structure in the Stockholm region that connects civilian innovation environments, technology companies, and stakeholders within the total defence ecosystem to accelerate the development of dual-use technologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through collaboration between Kista Science City, Sting, LEAD, Ideon, and UIC, a model is being created that provides companies with access to needs-driven dialogues, business development support, testing and demonstration environments, and international partnerships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By the end of the project, at least 80 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will have received support related to dual-use technologies. At least 10 innovation processes between companies and total defence stakeholders will have been completed, and at least 10 international partnerships will have been initiated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A long-term collaborative structure between civilian innovation environments and defence stakeholders will be established. The outcome will strengthen the Stockholm region\u2019s industrial capacity and contribute to increased technological resilience and competitiveness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
