Most innovation events start with companies presenting what they have built.
This one starts somewhere else: with the problems that need to be solved.

On December 8, UIC brings together innovative companies with organisations from across Sweden’s total defence system for a full day of challenges, conversations and matchmaking.
Participating organisations represent different parts of the system – from military defence and national authorities to regional and local preparedness.

These include the Swedish Air Force, the Swedish Food Agency (Livsmedelsverket), the Swedish Medical Products Agency (Läkemedelsverket), the Geological Survey of Sweden (SGU), Region Uppsala, Uppsala Municipality and the County Administrative Board, together with other organisations and companies working with defence, preparedness and resilience.

The organisations bring concrete, non-sensitive challenges from their own operations. They will describe what they are trying to achieve, where current approaches fall short and where new technology, expertise or ways of working could make a difference.
Companies will then have the opportunity to meet the challenge owners directly, ask questions and explore possible approaches together.

What to expect

Understand the real challenges – Hear directly from challenge owners and get closer to the needs behind the problem.
Matchmaking and networking – Meet relevant organisations, companies and experts, with the aim of creating concrete next steps after the event.
Panels and perspectives – Gain insights on innovation, preparedness, resilience and how new solutions can move towards real-world use.
