When Ny Teknik presents this year’s 33 best, most innovative, and promising young startups in Sweden, we see three companies that have received support from UIC: Air Forestry, Xertified, and Helios Innovations. The companies on the list showcase strong technical innovation with high potential for rapid global market growth.

Three Companies on This Year’s 33 List Supported by UIC
A place on the 33 list is a confirmation of these companies’ innovation capacity, potential, and contribution to Sweden’s competitiveness. It also highlights UIC’s dedication to promoting deep-tech and environmental innovations. UIC continues to play an important role in supporting innovative startups and growth companies across all industries through business development support, networks, and other resources, thereby helping to strengthen Sweden’s competitiveness.
Xertified appears on the list for the first time with its new solution that protects connected assets within IT, OT, and IoT. This is achieved through hardware or software that provides digital security, device by device.
Helios Innovations is on the list for the second time. They have developed a new method to desalinate seawater using waste heat, purifying liquid process waste from the industry through evaporation.
Air Forestry, appearing on the list for the third time, has introduced a completely new way to thin forests—from the air using drones. The company attracted one of the largest investments on the 33 list in 2024 when it closed a round of 96 million SEK this summer, according to Ny Teknik’s article.
All companies have received support through one or more of UIC’s business development programs, including Swedish Scaleups.
Once again having three companies represented on this year’s 33 list is a clear indication of Uppsala’s outstanding efforts to identify and support high-quality tech startups. It also reinforces UIC’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for innovative entrepreneurs.
Companies on the list must be based on proprietary innovation, be a maximum of seven years old, and not be listed on any trading platform. The companies are also assessed based on how their innovations or processes align with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. See the 33 list at NyTeknik.se.
